Ram sticks used to work in 1 and 2 now only 2 and 4?

Hello all i installed the corsair plats ddr4 2666mhz, but previously before I had some gskill ddr4 3200mhz and they both worked in the 1 and 2 slots now after getting the corsair plats I can only get them to work in the 2 and 4 slots. Everytime i try them in the 1 and 2 i get a bunch of error codes. Any suggestions?

hello thanks for the reply. Haha after you responded and I read what i typed i totally explained this wrong lol. My last pair was working in the 1 and 2 slots both red slots for me now it only works in the 2 and 4 slots one red and one black slot lol. Anyways on to your question. My MB reads the new ram stick timings in the 2 and 4 slots but i cant get them to work in the 1 and 2 slots and if i try the 1and 3 slots i still get the error codes. Only way i can get them to work is by one stick in the 2 slot and 4 slots or both sticks used in the 2 and 4 slots
