It's a good(read balanced) mid-range PC. 1080p high settings not going to happen with recent games.

Can you please be more specific about your RAM? Specifics are important. We might see some compatibility issue you may have missed. Or might just have an opinion we can offer.

You are going to hear bad talk about your PSU. It's the one I have. It's the one that supports my hardware. It's the one that supports overclocking. It's the one nobody should EVER buy again. The one you chose is the one I chose for my build. It has many safety features but it's still horrible and must be upgraded at my first opportunity. It gets a bad review and it becomes worse than salt in an open and festering wound. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-SuperNOVA-Modular-Warranty-220-G2-0550-Y1/dp/B0106RDI3W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482072068 is a MUCH better choice. Your choice is safe but......

Whether I'm overclocking and gaming or just surfing the web my PC seems happy. But the evil that lurks within my PSU is a ticking time-bomb.

You should add one more stick of RAM.

That's a dual channel board and needs two modules to operated the way they were designed to.
