How To Know If The MoBo is Grounded Correctly

I've just finished assembling my first PC and whilst trying to enter the BIOS, the PC's PSU simply "clicks", stopping the power and making it restart. I have read that this could either be a defective MB or incorrectly grounded MB and have tried to isolate the issue by simply having the MB connected to the PSU yet it clicks automatically. What should I do?

Solution
A click from the psu then a shutdown probably means something is shorting and causing the protection circuitry in the psu to kick on. A computer will still work without a ground from the wall, its not recommended but it should work my old house had no ground for the outlets in my room and my pc worked fine.

You may have an unused standoff touching the bottom of the mobo, or possibly something else metal is touching the mobo or some other component and causing a short.

Thanks so much for the reply, I left a handful of unscrewed standoffs thinking they wouldn't affect my mobo. :D

Yeah that will do it. No problem.
