My SATA cable extension won't connect to my main lead

Just bought a 2nd hard drive and attempted to install it, but the extension lead I bought won't connect to any of the remaining SATA connectors I have remaining on my main SATA lead.

This is the extension cable I have. Am I missing something here? Obviously the female end connects just fine into my new hard drive, but the male end won't fit into any existing female SATA connectors on my main cable which runs through my case.

I just don't understand this... am I missing something obvious here?

Sorry you lost me there !.

So you are saying that from the power supply of your system to the four provided Sata power cables plugs that come from it.
You are connecting the sata power extension cable to gain enough length for power to connect to a sata based Hd mounted in it`s drive bay of the case correct ?


Both ends are keyed Luke if you look closely at each you will see they are L shaped.
Now were not playing tetris ! just a joke.

Flip the end that connects to the sata power connector coming from the Psu.

It will only ever fit one way. so if it does not fit the way you are trying to fit it flip one end from left to right.

So the L shapes
line up from one connector to the other then push together.
