I bought a prebuilt pc two or three years ago, just last year i bought a low end video card, msi gtx 770, but now i want to upgrade. I'm gonna purchase a new video card on monday and i need to know what will bottleneck the least, the EVGA 1060 6gb or EVGA GeForce GTX 960, also my cpu is overclocked to 4.2ghz.

- Thanks in advanced, Tacts

Solution

Go for a 1060 6gb and a i5 6500, H170 motherboard, 8 or 16 gb of DDR4 RAM.

Would that be a good upgrade from the 770?

no

you are at a point where adding more gpu power is nearly pointless because your setup is too weak

you want more gpu power and be able to use it, you need to rebuild

Sorry, didnt see that you had a GTX 770 already. No point upgrading your video card to be honest. You need a better CPU first to get a good benfit.
