Windows WITH product key VS Windows WITOUT product key

So i was wondering where is the diference? why even bother to get windows key if you dont need one? you can just not insert product key in instalation

because you get constant notifications and some features are disabled. also down the line MS may start forcing a copy of windows to be activated by only booting to a screen that just tells you to activate like they did with earlier versions of windows.

Also when using without key, windows makes the pc automatically shut down every hour or so.
