I know 8 GB is enough for most games but 16 GB is how much the games can use but I want to make mods for games and I do not know if 16 GB would be enough to render and "hold together". The games I plan on making mods for is Skyrim Special edition, Fallout 4, Minecraft(lol) Kerbal Space Program, Space Engineers ,Unturned, Gary's mod?.
Programs like blender and such is what I might use and maybe YouTube videos or such rendering. Will 16 GB work for what I am planning on?

Do I need DDR4 3000+ for what I need?

If you already have a DDR3 motherboard then i will suggest stick with DDR3 you wont notice a difference for what your gonna use it for.

8GB is enough for most games today, i think the only have game that requires more is Battlefield 1 and Battlefront. I will recommend 16GB due to RAM prices being low right now.

i will recommend this ram kit

I will be making mods and maybe YouTube videos so 16Gb will do and any higher is for workstations? I have a DDR4 Mobo with a i7 6700K and space engineers requires 16gb on recommended and I rather not lag on planets because i think the extra 8 gb allows "smooth" gameplay on the planets.
