Hello everyone, I'm looking for a new gpu for my PC. This is an old pc and i havent really cared for him, i usually used my laptop, but now i though it might be worth boosting this one and i though i switch my old Radeon HD 6670 for an Nvidia and also a better one . So im wondering is the p8h61-m lx3 plus r2.0 motherboard compatible with a gtx1060? Also i have a Intel Core i3 2120 @ 3.30GHz and i dont know if it is worth keeping or shall I change it aswell?

If your power supply has the proper connectors (as well as quality) it should work. As to the cpu, you might want to switch it out with an i5-3570 or 3550. This will reduce the chance of any bottlenecks. But as it is (with the i3) the 1060 will improve performance over the HD...

But as it is (with the i3) the 1060 will improve performance over the HD 6670, just be sure your psu can handle it (quality is important when it comes to psu's).

What games are you playing? The 6670 might still be fine depending on what you are playing, but it definitely won't handle the latest titles at large resolutions.

Thanks!
I'm usually gaming with my laptop because it has a better performance (gtx950m 2gb, 16 gb ram and i6-4720hq), so i dont really use my pc, and i want to change so i can use my pc for gaming pourpose and laptop will be used for various projects for work/studying.
