i have the asus h110m-c found this; https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H110M-C/HelpDesk_Download/ but didnt know where to go from there

Solution
Choose OS then install the latest versions of all under chipset, LAN, and SATA

Or better yet download Easy Setup under Utilities, install that and install them that way.

On same link that you provided choose your OS, after that you will see list of drivers available for download.
You need Chipset, Audio, VGA, LAN Driver as mandatory for your system, and other drivers, if you want/need, then download and install them as well
make sure you latest Version

.

There won't be any compatibility issues, the motherboard's BIOS will see to that.

It's always best to have on-board GPU ready to use, just in case the add-on GPU develops a fault.

What you say makes sense, although Windows would install generic drivers anyway, but all I know is it messed with my system. Not sure if it was because I installed Intel VGA second maybe..
