And when I installed windows 10 64bit it says I have 4GB ram installed, is the other 4gb broken or is it simply disabled somewhere in bios setup?

What does it say in BIOS? Make sure they are both fully clipped in. If they are, try one at a time in every slot to check whether they are recognized, then you'll know neither chip is faulty.

On the first BIOS page (M.I.T) halfway down you should see Total Memory Size. What does it say?

Look at the slots for ram, and you have your 2 sticks in Channel A: 2 & 4 or Channel B: 1 & 3 right ? slot 1 is closest to edge of board slot 4 closest to cpu
when you go to bios, it should be like the first thing you see on that screen under The MIT screen

so very odd even gigabyte manual information does not look like that bios display must be a F20 upgrade graphically , like I said did you check the position of your ram on your Motherboard?

Can you post pics of the different menus on the M.I.T page? And even the BIOS, peripheral and chipset menus? Also, take both RAM chips out and put them back, in the second from left and far right slots.

Can you see the exact model of RAM? It will be on the RAM chips themselves. Have you checked chipset and other drivers are up to date? Do you know if your OS is 64bit or 32?

This is a common problem, but there are many different causes. If you keep at it I am sure the issue can be resolved.
