Hello everybody i have a question about cpu's. I have one Hp Pavilion dv6-1310SV and i want to change the cpu. I ordered one intel core 2 duo t9400 with FSB 1066mHz and te old cpu is t4300 with FSB 800 mHz.. i would like to know if it will work if i change the cpu. Moreover as i know the best core2duo with 800mhz FSB is t9500 but i just read about the fsb thing and i dont know what to do.. thanks for you time

Solution
FSB x Multiplier = frequency

Chances are pretty good that your new 1066mhz FSB CPU will run at 800mhz FSB in your laptop.

T4300 - 200(x4) x 10.5 = 2100mhz
T9400 - 266(x4) x 9.5 = 2533mhz

If the T9400 runs at 800mhz FSB, it will actually run at 1900mhz (200 x 9.5 vs 266 x 9.5), which is lower than the CPU it's replacing. Of course, there's a chance your laptop supports 1066mhz FSB, but I wouldn't count on it.
