Hello everyone,

I bought Asus RX 480 and it worked flawless. I can boot normally to windows hovewer when i tried to enter uefi bios there was just black screen. I tried to update bios and it didnt worked either.

I tried many things but in the end i replaced the newly bought card with old one and it worked. I think it was because RX 480 was 3.0 card while old one is 7870 which is a PCI-E 2.0 card. Is it normal that hooking up RX 480 resulting in black screen in bios for my ASUS M5A97 LE 2.0 mobo?

ThanKs everyone

Solution
Yes, it is normal. Your BIOS may need an update. If you remove the RX 480, and update the BIOS, then replace it, the problem should be solved. If that does not resolve the problem, your BIOS simply does not support PCie 3.0, and you'll have to live with that happening.
