Hey Guys

I Bought Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 3 Motherboard To Overclock Intel i7 6400t ES Skylake CPU. It Came With F6 Bios And The Overclocking Tools In The Bios Were Locked.

I Flashed With F5g Bios That Was Available For Bclk Oc And Nothingggg!!!!!!!!!!! I Reflashed The Motherboard With F5j & F5m Bios And Again Nothinggggg!!! All The Options To Bclk Oc Are Still Locked.

I Am Frustrated. What Should I Do? How The Hell Guys Owning Gigabyte Mobos Are Able To Unlock Bios Bclk Oc Features?

Guys Please Help Me Out

Solution

  • ■ i5 6400T,
the "T" line is a low power consumption kind of skylake, the design of T is a lower heat convection and electrical conduction characteristic of silicon /slash/ use i3 power ID on i5 cores.
    ■ I suggest you to go to Gigabyte head office and request your Gaming 3 be freely use for OC.

Just because the motherboard has the baseclock adjustment available, the 6400t comes with it disabled of the manufacturing line. The way most get around this is having a motherboard with a dedicated clockgen, and a modded BIOS. For the sake of integrity I can not link you to one, but if you google Gigabyte Z170 non K overclcok and use the Overclock.guide method you should be able to go from there.

Z170x Gaming 3 has a external clock gen and i downloaded the modded bios from overclock.guide which i have mentioned in my post. Still the overclocking features are locked on motherboard like with f6 version it came with. Not only that i have also tried some later beta version bios also the results of which are same.

Some people with the same motherboard on overclock.guide are also facing such problem
