I have the msi k9a2 neo motherboard and I think of upgrading my ram. Can I use 2 4gb sticks, or do I have to use 4 2gb sticks?

Solution
You can use the 2 4GB sticks as dual channel is offered. But only 8GB can fit into that motherboard. That's a pretty old board by the way.

I will contradict @Herc08 and I will say "Maybe". If your motherboard has four memory slots, it may only support 2GB DIMMs. (4 slots x 2GB == 8GB max). It may not have enough address lines going to the DIMM slots to support 4GB DIMMs. So don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

Is there a way to check that?
