Not sure if I should be putting a blower style or open air style into an FTZ01. My options:
-- MSI ARMOR OC GTX 1070
-- EVGA SuperClocked Gaming GTX 1070 ACX 3.0
-- ASUS ROG STRIX OC GTX 1070
-- EVGA GTX 1070 Founders Edition

Used Silverstone mini cases a lot mate
You have a tradeoff to make here which is temps vs noise.
A twin fan can push both CPU & GPU temps up by up to 10c with these type of cases.
It will however run quieter.
Out of the cards listed.

MSI armor , fully open shroud - pushes way too much hot air back into the case , there is literally zero rear venting , I'd discard it entirely.

Asus strix - simply too big mate , you'll have a nightmare fitting it, you'll have to completely flatten the power cable to get the case top on & it'll still be touching.

Founders - is what it is, noisy under load ,slighty whiney at idle speeds too, it is arguably the best choice for that case though when it comes to actual load temps.

EVGA SuperClocked Gaming...

I had a blower style 760 for about 48 hours then had to refund it I couldn't take the noise. (Mine also had some coil whine issues so maybe the whine was worse than the blower) but I'll never buy a blower style again as long as I live.

I was asking more about the design of this case specifically. One type blows air out, the other...I'm not even sure.

This case has very specific setup requirements -- hoping for an answer from someone who knows this case. I read somewhere that one type of GPU style is definitely preferred over the other for this setup, just can't find it now.

Thanks for the response tho!

EVGA SuperClocked Gaming GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 - if its not susceptible to the vrm cooling issues associated with some of the evga 10 series cards its the one id personally go for.
It'll run hotter than the founders without a doubt under load , but it'll still be within spec & a lot quieter.
Dimension wise - easily the best fit for the case.
