Good morning, I currently have Corsair Vengeance 8 GB : 2 x 4 GB - DIMM 240-pin - DDR3 CL8 ( 8-8-8-24 ) 1600Mhz. In certain applications I'm running out of memory, especially for video editing. I would like to add 2x4gb but needless to say this memory is no longer available at the moment. Is there an alternative I can add ? My Mb is a Gigabyte Z68X-UD7-B3 model and I'm running my Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4Ghz at 4.1 Ghz.

In theory, any other set of sticks at the same speed, timing and capacity can run alongside it. You'd have to use the correct slots though (they're colored for a reason). So buy another pair of 4GB DDR3 sticks at those exact speeds / timings, and it should be fine.

Back in the day there were myths about running different brands or even sticks from different production cycles being unstable, but that's bullshit. If the manufacturor has correctly listed the speed and timings, and you've set them all to the same speed/timings in the BIOS, it should work fine.
