i7 860 vs fx 6300

could i be better buying an i7 860 for about $50 to $60 over the fx 6300 it will be exclusively for encoding and multitasking i could use some overclocking too my ps is a Seasonic m211 620w bronze and 8 gigs ddr3 2133 my budget is $80

The performance is nearly the same. In opposition to the i7 860, you can still get the FX-6300 as well as Socket AM3+ Motherboards brand new.
I would go with the FX because of it's newer release date aswell as the better overclockability.

i would wait for the new amd zen in a few weeks. after it drops and the mb are out and the info is out and there are tests look at it or an i3/g3 cpu. the amd fx cpu been dead for a few years. newer mb will do faster ddr4 that cheaper and m2 slots for faster ssd. also newer mb let you drop in the newer cpu.

amd next year is going to refresh all there line with zen cores. whe nthe apu zen or updated apu for amd4 mb and ddr4 ram drop i go after that cpu fopr price/performace. old 900 chipset mb and 99.00 fx cpu have been outclassed by intel g3.i3 for years now.
