"Input not supported" Acer monitor

While using my Acer monitor, I had set the resolution higher than recommended and now I only see "Input not supported". The monitor is hooked up to my laptop and I have tried booting with safe mode with no luck. Any suggestions?

I changed the laptop's screen resolution to the lowest setting, plugged in the monitor, and still says no input not supported
