Problem/Issue:
The bottom of the window of the HP Restore/Recovery window is not showing and I therefore can't click "Next" to go to the next page (this windows in the image below is the very first window you get when you boot up with the HP Recovery DVDs.)

Just to give you the back story in case it matters.....I have an HP Envy Phoenix (see specs below) and one of the 3 hard drives in the RAID
has failed. I brought a new hard drive and I am re-installing the HP Recovery DVDs (no data
from the previous hard drive was saved so I am RESTORING to the original state of the Hard drives). This might be off topic but I have no idea which of the 3 hard drives has failed, so I am just placing the brand new hard drive into slot 1 and see if the 1st one is bad after installing the HP Recovery/Restore DVDs and attempting a complete restore. Then if the PC still does not boot up (which was the original symptom, I will re-install the original hard drive into slot 1 and then put the new hard drive into slot 2 and try installing the Restore DVDs again and if I still have problems with the PC, then I will know it is the 3rd hard drive that died.

This image below is what you see after you place the Restore DVD #1 into the DVD Drive and boot up the PC. I have tried every single key combination imaginable to see if I can get to the "Next" screen millions of times but I have given up. I have tried moving the mouse "below" the screen into the "hidden" area and left clicked but that doesn't work either.

The image below is a flat screen TV that is getting the source/signal of the PC via HDMI.
I have another flat screen and connected the PC to the different flat screen TV and I get the same problem. I also tried connecting the PC to a different Computer Display via DVI cable to DVI (DVI on both the PC and the display) but in that situation, I don't get any signal at all.

I am resorted to taking this PC to Best Buy after working and either asking the Geek Squad what the solution is or by getting a correct cable that they recommend OR by going around tonight at Best Buy and plugging the PC into different monitors on display until I find one that displays the bottom of the Window in Question and then purchase that display.

I have also tried "Moving" the window (there is a drop down window on the upper left hand side of this window in question that has options
to "Move" OR "Close" the window, but the "Move" function does not work (Yes, I know you have to move a Window by dragging the the top
of the Window but it still does not work).

Please note that he PC only has HDMI and DVI and NO OTHER types of display connections
on the back of it.

Any thoughts?

My first thought on this was--Monitor - Auto Adjust.
TRy and find a fucntion on the monitor to do this. It should set itself to the same signal (usually sVGA 600x800) that the computer is outputting.

On the 60" flat screen TV in the image, there are "Menu" options and I tried all of them. Some of the options in the Menu that I have tried include different "aspect ratios" and options such as "Full" and "Stretched" AND "Fill"
but all of them fail to allow me to see the bottom of the window in question. Thanks for your help though. :)

Thank you for the tip but I tried the Tab keyboard key then clicking the "Enter" key many many many times
over and over again so trying to "Tab" to the button does not work for some reason. I know that there are two buttons
down there because when I try to "Move" the Window, I see for a few seconds the two buttons at the bottom of the screen,
but then the PC just "drops" the Window back into the original place no matter where I try to drag and drop the window using the "Move" feature.

Thank you for the tip. This monitor is actually a 1080p TV so it is therefore not officially a PC Display Monitor.
I thought I have tried every function/menu feature to get the picture to adjust to show the bottom of the screen more
but I will try again tonight when I get home from work and play around with it more.
There is a feature that allows you to change the "stretch/fill" of the images on the TV and I played around with them a lot and none of them helped but I will try again tonight. Thanks again. :)

Does your PC have onboard graphics? It looks like it does per the HP product specs. You could try using the onboard HDMI rather than the graphics card. When you hooked up a "regular" computer monitor using DVI, the display was probably was black because you had previously used HDMI. Is there a way in the BIOS to switch the output to DVI? I am guessing it may be harder to get the resolution correct using a TV rather than a monitor (I could be wrong).

Despite a failed raid drive, can you boot up the computer into Windows without the recovery disk? If so perhaps you could change the display options the "normal" way.

I never thought about going into the BIOS and changing the display options there. I will try that tonight when
I get home from work. I didn't know you could change the display option in BIOS. The PC is dead, meaning that it won't boot up into Windows anymore, so unfortunately that is not an option.

Now that I think about it, even if you could get into Windows to change the display options, I don't think it would matter, since when you are using the recovery disk to boot up, that is the "operating system" and it would override the Windows settings.

Does your motherboard have onboard graphics?

I'm pretty sure the Graphics are on a some sort of Video Card and not part of the motherboard. Thanks for your insights
and help. :)

The problem may be the graphics settings in the recovery disk's "operating system". Do you have another computer you could insert the recovery disk to see if it appears full screen? (Not to hit "next" or anything like that, just to look at the display).

I have a feeling if you could get the display connected via DVI to a normal computer monitor, your issue might be solved.

Thanks. I did already try connecting this PC to a real HP Display Monitor (I don't know the model number) via DVI to DVI
but I got a "black screen" (no signal) and the monitor just stated "No signal...monitor is going to sleep".

Yes, I knew you had tried that already. I said it probably said no signal because you had previously had it connected via HDMI and the video card wasn't outputting a DVI signal because of that. I don't know if there is a setting in the BIOS to change this, but it is worth looking around in the BIOS once you get home.

I will check back later and try to come up with some more ideas.

Thanks mjslakeridge and every single one of your responses!!! I was able to find a solution thanks to the insight of mjslakeridge for sharing his thoughts how the DVI was not able to connect to the HP Display Monitor because I failed to reboot the PC after switching out the HDMI cable to the same PC. All I did was switch out/disconnect the HDMI to the Panasonic and connected the PCs DVI connection to the DVI into the HP Display Monitor and then REBOOTED the PC and I was able to see the bottom of the screen via the HP Display Monitor!! I was still unable to figure out why the Panasonic 58" TV was not able to see the bottom.......but who cares....I found a solution!! Thank you for every single effort from everyone to help.......especially mjslakeridge!!!!!!
