So I am in the process of rmaing my third Corsair RM 850 power supply. All three have been at different apts with different surge protectors. I'm running an i7 4790k on an Asus Maximus VII Hero. I have 16gbs of Corsair 2400 ram and a gigabyte R7 260x OC. If anything it is overkill. I could have gotten away with a 500 watt psu. The rig runs fine for months until randomly shutting down and not starting back up. Usually it dies at idle or by something silly like watching a movie. So far I have yet to have one last longer than six months. Has anyone had simmilar experiences, or, an idea what could be killing my psu? I am debating selling the rma and buying an evga.

It is listed as a T2 PSU, which is pretty dang good. I see very little complaints regarding RM850. Recently been seeing a lot of problems with EVGA ones though.

Have any other computers or devices bit the bullet? Maybe something going on with the power in your appartments?
