Should i upgrade my CPU or GPU for 1080p gaming?

I have an i5 4460 (stock) and an amd r9 380 4g.
Im wondering whether to upgrade my GPU to a Geforce GTX 1060 Strix or to upgrade my CPU to a i7 4790k. I want to just play 1080p at 60 fps.

A GPU will be needed in this case. The i5 should be able to handle 1080p gaming with no problems. If 60 FPS is your goal , then go for the GTX 1060. If you are not streaming or editing, the i7 is not needed. Even if you are, you can still do it, but the i7 will give you better performance (i.e. faster rendering) times. Other than that, grab the GTX 1060 and upgrade in the future. You can also look at the RX 480 8GB (pretty much the same thing as the 1060) if you want to stick with AMD.
