Is this my motherboard too old for my VGA?

Hello, I heard the MSI RX 480 can kill motherboards due to its large power consumption over the
PCI-e connector on the mobo. I would like to ask if my 3 year old motherboard (P8H61M LX-3 R 2.0) can handle it fine or if I am risking to damage one of my components.

I already googled and found out that this VGA is theorically compatible with my mobo, but I would want to confirm from someone more experienced than me.

Tanks in advance

Solution
I have heard of motherboards damaged when the RX480 first came out, rendering the PCIe slot useless, but AMD fixed the issue with a driver/firmware change. As long as you get the latest drivers, you should be fine.
It is compatible. RX 480 wants more from the mobo than the spec was originally intended. I do not remember seeing a single instance of a motherboard being damaged. I do remember performance and stability problems with the RX 480 on release, but that has all since been taken care of.

Your motherboard is 100% compatible.
