Hi, this is my first post.
I've been wanting to build a gaming PC for a while now and have found a DELL on Amazon, which I would like to buy.
Dell Optiplex Intel Core i7
I hope the above is done correctly.
Anyway, I've been wanting to fit a GTX 1060 into the case and swap the PSU.
Will it fit into the case?

Solution
you may be able to move the parts but dell like to use special connections and proprietary parts that don't fit or work well inside other cases. the front panel connections are likely an odd card that keeps the connections off the mobo. so a new case's front ports would not have any place to plug into unless you move and mount the little card along with it and so on.

there are other little issues as well that may pop up. if you are willing to struggle with it and do some trial and error moving/mounting parts, then you could probably do it. but it will not be a simple move at all. especially for these small office pc's like this one is. they tend to have all kinds of odd stuff going on inside.

once you have the box, you may find a...

Do you reckon I could buy the PC and take the parts out and put them into a new case?

You can try that. But the PSU and motherboard are usually part of the case. You could try to remove it, but no guarantee, especially with Dell or HP computers.

Alright, thanks for the quick reply anyway. I might try and contact the sellers or something.

once you have the box, you may find a card that does fit once you can measure it. there are a couple low profile 1050(ti) cards and short mini ones all the way up to 1070 models. you can probably fit one in, though the psu will need to be replaced for a 1060 or beter more than likely. these office pc's have minimal psu's since they don't use extra parts beyond the very basic ones.

here is a list of all the cards with dimensions and power needs for you to reference if you can get some space available numbers http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3047729/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1000-series-megathread-faq-resources.html#17902600
