Hi
Got an usb 3 external drive and i connect it via usb 3 port to my router Asus RT-AC68U, I want to store/stream my media files from the external drive. The issue is that the write/read speeds seems to be slow around 20-30mb/s via ethernet connection to my pc, i am useing a Gb connection to my router and i tested the external drive speed on my pc and they start from 450mb/s and then drop to solid 115mb/s
any suggestions ?

I read: Hooked up USB3 drive directly to my PC and getting 115-450 megaBIT a second. Correct?

1. Have you tested your USB3 port some other way and you are confident is runs full USB3 speed?
2. 115-450 mb = ~15-45 megaBYTE per second that's kinda slow for a modern HD, is this a 2.5"?

I want to warn you, ROUTERS USB connections tend to be slow. When they say IT RUNS USB3! (to sell you the router) what they are telling you is, you can hook up a USB3 drive in there and it will work, but they are NOT telling you they guarantee USB3 speed.
