My Current HDD cache is 16MB and i will replace it with HDD Cache 32MB. Is the replacing with higher cache will be interrupting system?

My team told me, that they receive information from Inst. team that in Honeywell system the Hard disk is RAID1 configuration ( mirror ) we need identically same with the other one in order for system running normally.

Is there any solution for this case?

Thank you,

Solution
As already mentioned, running two drives with different cache size in a RAID 1 configuration, shouldn't matter. Since you don't have any other option (besides getting 2 identical drives) I'd say that you could give it a go. In terms of performance there will be no difference. :)
Hey there, agussb.

Basically the RAID one volume could work with different drives, but the more the differences the greater the chance for the RAID to degrade. That's why it's recommended that you go with the exact same drives (capacity, cache, models, etc).
I'd strongly suggest that you get in touch with the customer support for that system for more information and to ask if this is going to be OK.

Hope that helps.

Hello Boogieman_WD,

Thanks for your information.

I already check for the stock of WD5000AAKX but the distributor WD in Indonesia said that type was discontinued and replacing with WD5000AZLX. So i have a problem for replace it with same type.

I still awaiting my colleague team to find a solution for this problem.
