Installed a MSI GTX 680 twin frozr in my PC and it has crashed games like Overwatch, Heroes and Generals, H1Z1, and World of Tanks. My specs are: intel pentium g3220 3.00ghz, 16gb ram, and 550 watts of psu. I have tried installing new drivers to synergize with the new graphics card from and the display adapter is up to date so there are no new updates. Please lend me your advice.

That's what I thought the main problem was. Would the processor, being a source of bottleneck, be a problem also? Or is it just the PSU? I'll provide you the PSU info once I am not lazy because taking off my case is complicated XD. Also would you think that the Corsair RMx Series, RM750x gold certified is good enough for the card?

The dual core is a definite bottleneck in your system and some games won't play for that reason. However, a couple of the games you have listed aren't too demanding on the CPU which leads me to believe the PSU might be the culprit since the recommended PSU for the GTX 680 is a good quality 550 watt. Cheap PSU's often aren't able to produce their advertised wattage and as they age, can drop output even further.

Those Corsair models are quite good, but may be a little overkill for your build and budget. The Corsair CXM 550 is a decent quality/value power supply that would work. Check the CPU support list for your motherboard to make sure all are compatible, but any of the i5 Haswell CPU's would make a big improvement in your gaming. I would look specifically at the i5 4440/4460/4570/4590/4670/4690 CPU's. They vary in price quite a bit, but you should be able to find one of them under $200.00.

The bronze/gold rating only refers to the efficiency of the PSU. Most people will never notice a difference in their electric bill. Adding an i5 will not require a larger PSU. The i5/680 combination will still leave you plenty of headroom even with the 550 watt PSU.

Sorry to bother you again, but I have another question. To be more specific on the game crashes, it would usually freeze up and a windows notification would appear on the bottom right and it would say; "Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware." Is this problem still relevant to my weak PSU and will getting a better PSU fix this?

I asked my friend about this but he said that its most likely the PSU's fault since the crashes/problems never occured with the processor I currently have. What do you think?
