It will be fine in all but the most CPU heavy games. There are some out there, but you should wait and find out how your rig performs before upgrading. You may not be playing those games, and even if you do, a slight bottleneck may not hurt performance enough to matter to you.
agreed.
Also, about the monitor... is that a GSYNC monitor?
a) if it IS, then dropping FPS a bit in heavily CPU titles won't matter very much since you don't need to hit a specific FPS minimum (like aiming for a solid 60FPS VSYNC'd on 60Hz monitor).
b) if it is NOT, then you really need how to use "HALF Adaptive VSYNC"
to use:
1. NCP-> manage 3d settings-> "add" game
2. select the HALF Adaptive VSYNC and save
3. Now locked to 72FPS (or if GPU drops below VSYNC is turned off automatically to prevent stutter though it produces screen tear like normal with VSYNC OFF).
*You should not simply turn on VSYNC due to the stuttering. The above option is the best compromise if you don't want screen tearing, and can't hit a solid 144FPS.
Choose the best combination of graphic settings that let you achieve 72FPS with minimal drops. Too high graphics and you have screen tear too often. Too LOW and graphics are unnecessarily poor.
