Hi there Ezro__one,
Unfortunately, there's a chance that your HDD is failing.
You have an OS CD right? In case you do, you can try to run start up repair.
If this does not help, you can perform clean OS installation. If you have some data stored on the drive though, you will need to retrieve it first, as this would wipe it. You can just use some data recovery tool for DOS mode. Alternatively, you can take out the drive out of the system, attach it as a secondary one to another computer, access it and transfer all the data that you need.
