Hello guys, i've been thinking about getting a gtx 1060 to replace my current 2x gtx 560 ti sli. But i've got this one "problem" that i need help with.

Both of my gtx 560 ti's have dual 6 pin pci connections. (Psu -> Graphics card) but the gtx 1060 has a either an 8 pin or a single 6 pin connection. The thing is my current psu is more than capable of handling the gtx 1060 (750w) but i'm unsure about the connections.
My question is: If the 1060 only has a single 6-pin, will it work if i take one of the 6 pins from my gtx 560 and just connect that. since the 560 uses 2 6 pin connectors. Or do i need an adapter of some sort?

My other question is: My psu have these 6 + 2 pins cables. So if the 1060 has a 8 pin connection will it work by simply using the single 6 pin + the 2 pin? Or will it not be enough power?
Thanks!

Solution
Most GTX 1060 will have a 6 or 8 pin. If it requires 8-pin, then just connect the two and plug it in the slot. If it is only six, tie the 2-piece to the cable and connect the 6-pin. It works either way.

As long as your PSU has a six pin connector, it will work. I tied my seperate two-piece connector to the cable until I can get a custom sleeve.

What if the 1060 has an 8 pin? Will it work with the 6+2 or do i need an adapter?
