So I recently bought a CPU (since I already have a monitor) now I'm getting a "no signal" on my monitor when I switch the source to VGA. I have a AMD Radeon RX 460 graphic card. I have a VGA only cable but I bought a DVI-D dual link adapter. Now I've plugged the VGA end onto the monitor then plugged the other VGA end with the adapter onto the graphics card. No luck. However, I see a display when I switch the source to HDMI since I also have an HDMI but the screen doesn't fit correctly (but can be adjusted).

I'm hoping the make the graphics card the default display source. Any help will definitely be recognized by our Lord God.

Thanks for replying! Yep figured it out. Read other articles and found out that VGA, which has an analog signal doesn't do well with DVI-D which is a digital. My Monitor comes with an HDMI though. Can I use an HDMI male to DVI-D female adapter like this http://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=2080 ? Will that work? Thanks!
