amd only ddr2 ram

hello im on a budget gaming build using an x5460 and a hd 7870 to build a pc for my brother as a christmas present. The problem is i cant find any "intel" ram i guess. All the ram i find is "AMD only" or "ECC". Question is: will amd only ram work with my intel based processor and motherboard?

I think what is meant here is RAM sticks made with chips that are dense and are not supported on Intel chipsets, but work on AMD. I would not risk buying that for Intel system- I'd rather get more 2GB sticks of normal ram.

AMD don't make RAM as far as I know, and if they do it's obscure. DDR4 isn't available on older AMD or Intelplatforms, and DDR3 and DDR2 are older versions. Which RAM you need depends on motherboard, and you didn't say model.

If you go to your motherboards website you should be able to pull up a list of tested ram for your motherboard. This isn't a full list of ram that will work, but just tested as working, but by looking up these supported ram will give you the specs to look for.
