I'm overclocking an fx 6300 (it's almost 2017... I know) and I'm not sure about my temps currently. My mobo is an ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2

At 4.7 Ghz/1.45v, my CPU core temp maxed at 65.6 C and my socket temp maxed at 72 C but leveled out at 71. Should I call it quits?

(Using prime 95 and open hardware monitor)

Well actually my new case fans came in today. With those, I was able to keep the socket down to 69C at 4.8Ghz running torture test for an hour. When gaming my socket stays below 50C and my core stays below 60C (usually around 45-50)

That should be okay right?

CM Hyper 212 EVO

I'll probably back it off to like 4.6Ghz

Those temps are alright (<60C). I put a Zalman CNPS9900MAX cooler on an FX8350 (@ stock clock) in an M5A88-M and it pegs at 60 - 61 with all 8 cores max'd for over an hour doing video conversions, climbs pretty quick then levels of at 60 -61 and it is not a problem. 45 - 50 is no problem for the FX4100. What is the factory high temperature limit for the FX4100?
