So I just bought the GTX 980ti SC and it appears to work fine until I play games.

I have been thinking that it could be the power supply going bad or what not, the reason for that is because of the symptoms I'm seeing.

1. Computer screen goes black with no signal message after like 30 seconds
2. I can hear a buzzling sounds, almost electrical through my headphones, it goes on and off but it is mostly on when playing, and it only can be heard when starting to play a game.
3. It is stock, I actually underclocked it at one point and put the power target to 90% but it could still hear the sound.
4. The most important one I think: There have been times when my additional drives HDDs disconnect and re-connect, but only happens when I'm playing games. Makes me wonder that if it is because I'm losing power slowly until the GPU gives up.
5. The GPU temperature does not pass the 79 F, stays around 60-70 usually.

My Build:
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 TI SC
CPU: AMD FX 8370
Motherboard: ASUS M5A97
PSU: Kentek KTPU-750w

Not really sure if I should replace it with a 1000w PSU just for kicks. I have gone through forums pointing out the NVIDIA GeForce drivers which I used an old one and disabled/enabled the V-sync to on & power management to maximum performance (this crashed the GPU almost immediately); it seems to last more when set to optimal power however in game.

I decided to order the Corsair CX Series, CX750, 750 Watt and try it out. I hear constant sound change when running black ops 3 in like goes up and down and clicking noise, I guess it is something with the PSU that is trying to keep the load; the reason I think it is the PSU is because it is the one that is connected directly to the back up hard drives, I don't think the SATA port would turn off the HDDs out of no where? I have three HDDs as backup and all of them seem to be affected with disconnecting and reconnecting; it's like my power supply is trying to keep them up and can't until it decides to shut off the GPU which just blacks out on me.

I will report back when I get my new PSU. If you have any additional thoughts, please share, or just to confirm that from the symptoms, it is PSU related.

My computer runs normal on regular task activities; no crash or anything until I try to play black ops 3. Thanks!

Ok, the new PSU did the trick. It was down powering my system and causing the GPU to shutdown unexpectedly. Now runs fine, will report back if it comes back again somehow.

+AguilarPro Good call on suspecting and replacing the power supply. I've never heard of Kentek before. Honestly you would have been just fine with a 550 watt quality power supply. Common recommendation for a GTX 980 Ti is a 650 watt PSU, just in case it's a poor brand/model of power supply. Happy gaming.
