Hey guys!

I currently have an I7 3770k Processor which is constantly burning out (hitting 105 degrees) due to all the rendering in 3DS Max (Mental Ray/VRay), Unreal Engine and other 3D software relating to Games Design.

I'd like to upgrade the parts of my computer to help with rendering times and to help with performance when running multiple demanding software at the same time. I have a basic knowledge of PC parts but could really do with some help from you guys.

This is my current Build
Motherboard - MSI Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt (MS-7752) (SOCKET 0)
Graphics Card - 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
Ram - 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 933MHz
Processor - Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz
Power Supply - Corsair TX650W
Hard Drives - 2x 1TB 7200RPM Sata HD & 1x SSD 240GB

Initially I was looking at the 6700k however after looking over other threads I think that something with 6 cores might be better?
What do I need to look out for to improve the performance the most?
Is my Ram outdated?
Are my Hard drives suffice or should I upgrade to something faster?
What do I need to look out for in a motherboard?

I'm looking to spend around £700 but it's flexible.

I'd love to see some suggested builds from you guys :)

Thank you for the reply ScrewySqrl,

I've gone ahead and bought these parts.

Corsair Vengeance 3000 MHz 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4 Non-ECC Unbuffered LPX RAM/Memory Kit - Black
Intel Core i7 6800 K 3.40 GHz LGA2011 V3 15MB Cache High End Desktop Processor CPU - Black
MSI X99A Sli Plus USB 3.1 Motherboard
Corsair CP-9020061-UK Builder Series CXM750 ATX/EPS Semi-Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Power Supply Unit, 750 W
Noctua NH-D15

I noticed that you chose dual channel Ram, what are the differences between dual and quad channel Ram? and would the products I bought work together?

Merry Christmas!
