Hello, Ive built this pc about 2 years ago:

Intel i5-3570k
Asrock Z77 Exteme 4
Gigabyte Geforce Gtx 760
CoolerMaster Sedon 120v
Windows 7

I just came back from a 4 month trip and i have used this computer for about 2 months total this year. I just came back and from day one i have my cpu usage jumping a lot always above 25% ussage and sometimes at 100% and making the mouse freeze for about 2 seconds.

I have defraged 2x with smart defrag 4, CCleaner runned, AVG runned, nothing is running this all happens in idle. All services apart from microsoft are dissabled and now I am out of ideas and stressed. Please help...Thanks

I dont know how to upload a picture of task manager btw...

If the system keeps powering off at random times, and as you say Cpu usage it from 25% to 100%.

When windows os loads to the desktop Charles.

Click on the start button on windows desktop.

In the search box type : msconfig, and press enter.

A new window box will open.
Click on the startup tab at the top of the window.

In there you will see a list of programs that are set to auto run after windows os has loaded.
Look for any bot of software listed in there that has an unknown statement for manufacturer.

And untick it from the list then click apply.

This is to make sure no program in the startup is run such as a virus or malware file, or a Bitcoin mining program that could potentially be using some of your cpu processing power ok...

To be honest if the system is also restarting and powering off during use or resetting it`s self at random time when used

I suggest that you really try the system with a new power supply fitted to it.
Even if you can borrow another power supply from a friend for an hour or so to test to see if the whole cause is related down to the current power supply you are using in the system as it stands.

I would really give this a go Charles as it may be the cause as to why the cpu usage at times is high.
though it sounds an odd thing to do as a test.
