I need a GPU with a budget of only $50, just to limp along the next year until the new build in Dec. 2017. (Kabylake and Zen!)
The kids play mostly Maplestory and Minecraft.

Current system:
AMD A6-3500 APU
Asrock A75M Mobo
4GB RAM
Corsair CX 430 PSU

Deciding between:

SAPPHIRE Radeon R7 350 DirectX 12 100385L 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 CrossFireX Support Video Card

MSI Radeon R7 240 DirectX 12 R7 240 2GD3 LP 2GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card

My gut says to go withe the R7350 but my head says," The 240 is only $20 after rebate, are you nuts?"

Is there really too much difference at this low end? Is there anything else to be looking at? PcPartpicker declared all items compatible. What say you?

The 350 uses DDR5 memory, that's the critical difference. It will make all the difference, mostly in Minecraft. BTW, that 350 is basically a rebadged HD 7750. Buying a card with 2gb of DDR5 gives you a lot more flexibility in gaming than a 1gb. I know it's only those two games now, but who knows what they might want to play later?

Thank you. Rebranding is what I was trying to find out tonight. Very difficult. Your answer gives me more confidence buying that card. You are right about wanting to play other things. I am sure they do at friends houses they just don't tell me. Hoping the rebuild will address that issue. Pfffft. It will always be something more. Ha ha.
