I have a custom pc i5 6600k with a gtx 1070, Before i had a gtx 970. I recently installed my 1070 about 5 days ago and ever since then, my pc has been randomly shutting down and refusing to send input to my monitor when connected into the GPU and from the onboard graphics from my MOBO. It always boots back up fine after the shutdown except for the monitor part. I also tried to remove my 1070, however the clip you push down would refused to move inorder to remove the GPU (when installed i did not force it into the pci-e 16x slot).

When the occurrence of the shutdown happened, I was simply watching YouTube (Both times) and it shutdown. The intervals in between the shutdown seems to be 6-ish hours. It shut down today at 4:15PM and then again 10:25 PM.

Hi Polymorphous,

I take it you made sure you un installed the video driver first of all for the 970 GTX card if it was installed before fitting the the new 1070 GTX card.

What you should do is un install the video driver and any windows registry entries.

You can use DDU short for Display Driver uninstall to do this.
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Download the program from the link provided, and install it on your system, then run it.

Select the option to remove all Nvidia video drivers and windows registry entries made in windows.
Restart the system let it load to windows again.

And then go to www,geforce.com

Thanks for the fast responce,
I have used the link that you sent and uninstalled all Nvidia drivers that was from the 970. Also, I dont know if this is something to be worried about, but when it crashed and i powered it back up, the EZ Debug LED light would go on.

And to see if this was the issue regarding the crashing/shutdown, i will be leaving my PC on overnight and while I am at school and respond back to this thread on the results.
