Hey guys, I'm new to PC Gaming and yesterday I bought my new PC.
ASUS G11-CD.
GTX 970
i5 6400
8gb
1tb Hard Drive

So my problem is that I connected the PC to my monitor, but the screen was black and said ''No Signal''. I believe the problem is not the Monitor or the VGA cable because I connected it to my laptop and it worked completely fine. I tried cleaning the RAM, but I couldn't remove it. I tried pressing the power button for 1 minute too but didn't work.(VGA CABLE IS CONNECTED TO MOTHERBOARD)

I think the monitor is too old for the PC but I hope that's it, I don't want my computer to be
damaged, since i just bought it today.

Of course, that's right. You will have to connect the...

Hello Lordwing! Are you trying to connect your VGA Cable to the on board graphics VGA Connector with the GPU (GTX 970) installed on your motherboard?

If yes, you will need to change the settings in the BIOS.
If no, try checking the "Display Source" settings in your Monitor.

Let me get some clarity. So, you are trying to connect your VGA Cable from your monitor to your CPU's Motherboard (as you shown in the linked picture), and not the GPU. Am I right?

Well i really don't know if its the motherboard or the gpu, but i'm just trying to connect the vga where it goes. It's the place where the RAM slots are, if im being clear.

Either disconnect the GPU from the motherboard and go with motherboard graphics

Or get a DVI cable and connect that to your gpu and monitor.. and disconnect the VGA cable (this will be the best performance though)

Alright pal. Try to disconnect your Graphics Card from the Motherboard and then connect your VGA Cable to your Motherboard from your Monitor. Then, try to power on your PC.

First, do this thing and please reply me if it works. :)

You can use "VGA to DVI" adaptor. But, it is recommended to purchase a new monitor that is HDMI/DVI compatible, so that you can get best picture experience.

By the way, with your Graphics Card installed on your Motherboard, trying to connect VGA Cable to your Motherboard (On Board graphics) doesn't work i.e. it doesn't have access to the Graphics Card. You have to connect the cable directly into the GPU from the Monitor itself. :) I hope you understand this.

Oh okay! so let me know if i understood. I connect the vga to the pc and it doesnt connect to the monitor because the motherboard is sending everything to the gpu? So i need to have my connection on my gpu?

The V206 HQL monitor you said you have, does both have DVI and VGA. And it should have come with a DVI cable.

Of course, that's right. You will have to connect the compatible display connector directly from the Monitor to the GPU and not the Motherboard! As your Monitor has only VGA connector, you will have to use an "VGA to DVI" adaptor or else purchase a new Monitor.

Thanks alot both of you! BTW BringerOfTea, can you help me with the DVI entry? How is the entry on the monitor? I can only see the VGA, and next to it the power.
