I just built a new pc;
AMD fx6300 3.5ghz,
Gigabyte 78LMT-S2
Corsair Vengeance ram (2x4gb)
Palit Geforce GTX 1050ti 4gb
Western Digital 1tb hdd (WD10EZEX)
Corsair 550w psu.
When I boot it up to install an os from a usb (I don't have a cd rom) on the post screen I get a message that reads "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER." I have tried all of the fixes I have found on this website and so far none of them have worked. The first boot device is set to "Hard Disk", the second "USB-HDD" and the last disabled. My hard drive is on the "IDE Channel 2 Slave."

Thanks for the help.

Solution
Have you tried to boot from the flash drive while it is attached to another computer?
There's a chance that there is something wrong with it. I believe you can reformat it and use a different tool to make it bootable.

Hi there bebo112,

You can't really boot from the USB drive right?
My suggestion would be to adjust the boot order and make the USB drive your first boot option.

In case the issue persists, you can try the flash drive on another computer and make sure it works.

Cheers,

on the splash screen at start up there should be a list of option for you to choose from. One of them being select boot device, or something along those lines. Press the key that corrosponds to it at start up when you see it and then select the USB flash drive with the windows install on it. That should lead you to be able to install windows.

My other advice would be to change you HDD from running in IDE tode to AHCI mode instead. Especially if you are looking to install a SSD in the future

Thanks for the reply, I tried both of your methods but I get the message on the post screen "Verifying DMI Pool Data." I'm new to computing so if you know what this means thank you.

Thanks for your reply, I tried all of your methods also but always get a message on the post screen saying "Verifying DMI Pool Data." It gets stuck on this screen for ages and I don't know if it is doing anything regarding the OS. Thanks

Thanks for this reply, I put it in my laptop and formated it. I am currently extracting the files to it, I'll reply if it works. Thanks again
