In nvidia console set your max fps in game config down to around the lowest your ok with. Then anytime you start to drop below that your CPU and GPU will be cool and ready to jump into boost. You can also optimize your system using cclearner and advanced systemcare.

Na set your frames per second of your card to the min in game fps. See my card runs between 85 to around 120fps. I limit my GPU to 85fps. This lets my system run cool and ready to boost when it drops below that setting. IE this helps prevent the larger drops in fps and smooths out game play.
