GPU Underclocking itself below stock speed in games

I currently discovered that my GPU underclock itself during games. GPU is r9 280 TOP by ASUS, its stock core speed is 980 mhz and u can even overclock it during benchmark test like Unigine Heaven and overclock will stay, but if u enter a game cores speed downgrade to 874 and it wont go up. Then i exit the game and go back to Unigine Heaven benchmark and no mater what i do in Afterburner or GPU Tweak core clock is locked on 874mhz unless i restart pc.

Are you actually facing any performance drop while in-game?
Low FPS or something?

If not, i wouldn't bother with that. I'm sure it will go up as soon as you put a game that requires it to work faster.

No, i dont have lags but have much less FPS than i should cause my core is undercolocked. And i checked in multiple games that use 100% of GPU load, core speed wont go higher than 874 mhz no mater what.

Does it still is withing it's warranty?
IMO there's a failure in it then.

If it reached 100% and still not overclocked itself, it may be a problem with it.

I'd try to call support and try to RMA it.

All drivers are up to date. In benchmarks i can overclock it from 874 to 1200 mhz core and from 1300 mhz to 1500 mhz memory, and its stable, i even see huge performance boost, but in games it will lock me down to 873 and 1300 memory.
I will try to call support but not optimistic.
