This problem has occured to me multiple time when I render videos. When I render 1080p videos with little effects (color correction, velocity), my computer would render them fine. On the other hand, when I render a video regardless of quality but with a crap ton of effects, Sony Vegas would crash midway or freeze out. I searched through several videos to this, but none of them helped whatsoever.

PC Specs
4 GB of Ram
GPU: NVIDIA GT 720
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840(4 CPUs)

Um, I can't help noticing you give zero information on what kind of CPU you're using, how much memory you have, or what videocard you're using. "A crap ton of effects" will almost always require substantially more memory and CPU power, not so much videocard power. Depending on the software, and what kind of card you have, you might be able to enable using the videocard to help render. That would be the main way your videocard would influence things.
