Should I upgrade cpu or gpu?

I currently have a fx-6300 and a gtx 750ti oc 2gb and 8 gigs of ram, i enjoy playing games like battlefield 4, dead by daylight, gta v, mortal kombat but as i start getting different games i realize i really need to upgrade my parts but im just a student and dont have a job whatever, long story short i can only upgrade my gpu or.cpu but not both, my choices are amd fx-8350 or geforce gtx 1050, which one should i get?

Edit: my gaming resolution is 1680 x 1050

Agree with Zerk.

Go ahead and get a 1050 (you can get a 1060 but will experience bottlenecking by your 6300).
Dont put any more money into your CPU platform. Wait until you can do a full upgrade to intel or AMD Razen (new AM4 generation set to release in a month or two)
