I tried to install IE 5.5 on my old Toshiba Satellite Pro 420CDT running Windows 95. I restarted the computer and now I get this message:
"Error: An I/O subsystem driver failed to load. Either a file in the .\iosubsys subdirectory is corrupt or the system is low on memory." I can't boot into Windows normally, but I can boot into safe mode with no issues.
I've tried uninstalling IE5.5, disabling my network card drivers, and even modifying my [vcache] in my system.ini (as this article suggests) to no avail. I also can't read the CD-ROM drive from the command prompt or safe mode to reinstall Windows and the laptop doesn't have a floppy drive.
Any suggestions?
