full screen games lagging after plugging in a second monitor

hello
i just got a new computer, and for some reason my games get a major drop in fps when i plug in a second monitor
the only fix i have found to this is to mirror both monitors and then set it back to extend
any fix for this?

specs
OS : windows 10
cpu : i5 6400 @2.70ghz
gpu : gtx 1070

also i noticed this

i'm not sure what any of this means so anything will help

I guess the questions would be what are you doing while its lagging are you playong games, whats your resolution , is only one monitor lagging. You might have to do a full clean install of your graphics drivers meaning uninstall your nvidia graphics driver entirely reboot then install the driver again. Sometimes Depending on what processes you have opened different programs can conflict with such things.

Try switching the ports with each other you can still rearrange in settings which screen u want as your main screen.

Also i had a r9 270x that lagged with two screens i realized its because the motherboard i had for some reason conflicted with the card itself when i used the on board video i had to plug both monitors into the...
