hey guys

i bought Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler but i don't like the fan . can i replace it with a static pressure fan with an LED like the corsair SP Series and expect a similar performance ?

Solution
The best way to get noise under control is to make sure your fans are plugged into your motherboard, and have the motherboard control their speed. You can have them run slowly when it's idle and only ramp up when gaming or other intensive tasks.
yes.

Just install the motherboard fan software and setup a profile to optimize for noise vs cooling.

Just in case it's an older motherboard, make sure if it's 3-pin or 4-pin fan header the fan also matches. Most now are 4-pin (PWM) which is what the Cryorig H7 uses.

oh wait what ? i need a software profile to make it work properly ? i thought it would work nice from the getgo

its actually a new system , i7 6700K + Z170A TomaHawk AC . so i gotta go for a fan that uses 4 pin and not 3 pin ? care to explain the difference and why the 3 pin wouldnt work ?

Most fans with clear plastic and LEDs have much worse noise profiles than fans from companies like Yate Loon (good but cheap), nevermind Noctua or beQuiet. In terms of cooling performance vs noise, you can expect to go backward with most LED fans.

Damn :( . guess ill just stick with the H7 then , its just that my case is a bit loud , its S340 and has only two fans plus the cpu cooler . i was wondering if Corsair Silent edition will do the trick for the noise plus it would also give better looks .
