So this is the thing I have one 4 tb and one 1 tb and two 500 gb hardrives. I want to change my step up and this is what I want too do

I want to get one 1 tb sdd and two 8 tb hardrives

I want the 1tb to back up on both the two 8tb hardrives. So this means that leaves me 7 tb of storage. Now I want to make one of the 8tb(7tb ) back up to the 8tb(7tb)

Can some help me understand how I can do this>? I did a raid 0 before so i got some general Idea.

Thank you and sorry for my english

Solution
whichever backup software you choose will ask you what you want to backup, and where, and when. What being the 1TB drive, and where being the RAID-1 volume, and when is usually when you aren't using the computer but it is on. the backup will be duplicated as the array is a mirror which should leave 7TB redundant storage.

if the 1TB drive fails, replace drive and fresh install of windows, then plug in the array drives, windows will see the drives as an array and you can then restore from the backups on the drives.

the simplest way to do that is to set up the 2 8TB drives in a mirrored array RAID 1, then backup the 1tb to the raid array. the array by definition will mirror the 7TB remaining as well as the 1TB to be backed up.

the 2x8TB drives become 1x8TB duplicated array that holds the Backup and a copy of the other drive.

How would I step up the 1 tb to be a raid array?

will you be booting to the array? if so the motherboard manual will have that in a step by step. it will vary by motherboard.

if your OS is on a different drive then you can use windows disk management console (right click on my computer>go down to manage: this will bring up the management console. in the left hand windows go to disk management) the drives will appear as blank (assuming brand new drives) you will see them both here.

The two 8 tb will be my backups but my 1 tb will be my main where windows will be installed I Just want to make sure everything is back up too the 8 tb raid 1 (how would I do that?)

I another question, What if I do this and I get a whole new computer what do I have to do now? its not like the new motherboard will know what i did before.

since the boot device is not the array, windows will work to make the RAID 1 volume, and since windows made the drive (RAID-1) as long as both drives are put in a windows system no other drivers or settings should be necessary.

I have not used the backup in windows 10. 10 made me switch to linux. I have had trouble restoring with earlier versions of windows backup though.
I have heard good things about Comodo backup. Comodo I know will backup the entire drive/partition if you wish or a single file.
here is an article that quickly compares 34 backup solutions

my backups are manually performed by me if you wanted to know what I use.

I got a bigger problem. Lets say drive b was my old drive with windows installed and has my user

Now I have my 1tb installed with windows 10 and the two 8TB are mirrored now. I installed back drive b and want to copy everything from drive b to the 8tb.

I keep getting messages telling me for permission denied

Is this happening because I had my hotmail login for as login for windows 10 on drive b ?

( PS I had pin lock and sometimes it will ask me login with my hotmail)

Do i have to go back too drive B and login and remove the passwords??
