Is the GTX 1050 Ti a good upgrade from GTX 660 Ti?

Right now I'm considering upgrading from my 660 Ti to a more new and fast GPU. A friend convinced me a 1050 Ti is the way to go. I just want to know if the GTX 1050 Ti really is a good upgrade from a GTX 660 Ti or should I wait a while for a new GPU to be released.

My Main Specs Simplified (if needed):
CPU: AMD FX-6300
RAM: 8GB Patriot Signature
PSU: 700W SeaSonic

I think the 660 Ti is about 760 level, which is about 950 level, which is about 1050 level. So you'd be moving up from a 1050 to a 1050 Ti roughly speaking. Frankly, unless you have a more specific bit of information, such as a game that you need more performance on, it's not clear if this is a worthwhile upgrade. The fact you even mention waiting makes me think you don't NEED an upgrade right now, so why do it?

Ah, thanks. I just wanted to play ARK Survival Evolved at a much better framerate cause the optimization on that game is bull. Thanks for clearing that up for me, haha!
