Hi,
So this morning I tried to turn my computer on and it just won't start. Basically, I press the on button, it acts as though it's booting (lights come on etc) and then it just shuts down again. It was working perfectly fine last night and there haven't been like any changes in the electricity or anything so I'm pretty unsure as to what's going on. Please help me!
Thanks in advance!

So it boots but windows isn't starting. How much do you know about computers? It might be easier to take it to a store to get it fixed, as working out what is wrong is trial and error.

You should see if you can get into the bios - its the part that launches before windows. The button is likely Del or F2 - need to press it as soon as PC is turned on, need to see if the bios is still recognising the hard drive in the boot menu. If bios can't see the drive, it may explain why it turns off.

On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB << its a handy boot disk
Lets see if start up repair helps
if you can get into the bios, you will need to change boot order so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose start up repair - this will scan PC and maybe fix this - will ask for logon info

Alright well thank you for replying, in the end I did take it to a computer shop (was hard to find on Christmas Eve eve) and they said it was the power supply that had died. I got it replaced and now it's working fine. Thank you for taking the time to try to help though!

I don't like long weekends as often my PC would break down on the day before them and if it was something i couldn't fix myself, it would be several days before I could get it even looked at. Around this time last year I reset my bios trying to fix a problem I couldn't identify but the fan speeds were all wrong and PC was running at 60+ c which isn't handy in summer. I didn't know what the problem was and had to wait until after NYE to get it fixed

With that in mind, I am not touching it for the next week :)
