Hey guys today I'm getting an SSD for laptop. I'll remove the HDD and put in only the SSD. I don't have a usb flash drive so i was wondering if possible to copy my OS from my pc to ssd and then put the ssd in the laptop.
PC -i5 6600
GTX 1070
WD 1tb
Laptop asus x550jx
i7 4710HQ
GTX 850m
and the planned SSD is Samsung 850 evo 250GB. I know i might have reinstall sound driver and such but will this work at all ?
OS is windows 10
P.S Suggest some software for such a task :)

Hey there, Todor_2.

The SSD manufacturer offers software for OS cloning/migration so you should look it up on the website. However, I'm not sure that what you plan on doing will work. It's more than possible for you not to be able to boot to Windows when you connect the SSD to the laptop since that OS has been configured for a different system. In any case, if the only reason for you not to perform a fresh install is because you don't own a flash drive, you could create installation media via a regular DVD disk as well: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media.

Hope that helps.

There are a few programs out there that will allow you to copy your hard drive contents across to another drive (like Ghost) but you obviously need to have both plugged in at the same time. I'd suggest that, if you or a friend has a desktop, you plug both your HDD and SSD into that and use one of these programs.

If you're lucky, Windows won't recognise that you've changed any hardware and will continue to work as normal (albeit faster thanks to the SSD). I've never done it myself, but my brother had the shop that built his computer do it for him when he upgraded many moons ago.

Good luck!

Edit: I was slow, what he said ^^^
